CauseCorrection

Fuel shutoff valve(s) closed (electronically controlled injection)

Check the fuel shutoff valve and circuit. Refer to Procedure 019-049 and Procedure 019-050 in Section 19 of the CELECT™ Systems Manual, Bulletin 3666084 or Procedure 019-049 and Procedure 019-050 in Section 19 of the CELECT Plus™ Systems Troubleshooting and Repair Manual, Bulletin 3666130.

 

Fuel shutoff valve(s) closed (mechanical fuel system)

Use the manual opening knob. Check the shutoff valve and the electrical circuit. Refer to Procedure 005-043 in Section 5. Replace the shutoff valve if necessary.

 

Fuel inlet restriction

Check for fuel inlet restriction. Refer to Procedure 006-020 in Section 6.

 

Fuel leak is causing fuel to drain back in the suction line

Check for fuel drain back. Refer to Procedure 005-010 in Section 5.

 

Air in the fuel system

Check for air in the fuel system. Refer to Procedure 006-003 in Section 6.

 

Fuel pump (gear or shaft) is not rotating

Check the fuel pump for shaft rotation and fuel flow. Refer to Procedure 005-016 in Section 5.

 

In-line check valve(s) is installed backward or has an incorrect part number

Check the in-line check valve(s) for the correct part number. Check the arrow on the check valve(s) for the correct orientation. Refer to the OEM service manual.

 

Fuel pump gear pump check valve is stuck open

Replace the check valve. Refer to Procedure 005-026 in Section 5.

 

Fuel pump pressure regulator is stuck

Check the fuel pump pressure regulator and the high pressure regulator. Refer to Procedure 005-060 in Section 5.

 

Injector o-rings are damaged or missing

Remove and check the injectors. Replace the injector o-rings. Refer to Procedure 006-026 in Section 6.
