Identify lubricating oil contamination

Perform an oil analysis to determine the contaminants.

Bulk oil supply is contaminated

Check the bulk oil supply. Drain the oil and replace with non-contaminated oil. Replace the oil filter(s). Refer to Procedure 007-013 and Procedure 007-037 in Section 7.

Internal coolant leaks

Lubricating oil sludge is excessive

Refer to the Lubricating Oil Sludge in the Crankcase Excessive troubleshooting symptom tree in Section TS.

Fuel in the lubricating oil
